Braces-Friendly Food for Summer

by televoxweb on Thursday, July 2, 2015 12:45 AM

Summer is upon us, and at Kids First Dentistry, we know many of our patients are ecstatic for the freedom it brings. But while class may be cancelled, the heat is certainly not. That's why for this blog, we wanted to detail a fun, braces-friendly recipe that is sure to help you chill out this summer!

    Frozen Banana "Soft Serve"

This recipe is delicious, perfect for summer, and couldn't be easier. To start, here's what you'll need:

    • Two frozen bananas
    • Peanut butter

After you've frozen your bananas, use a pairing knife to cut away the peel, then chop them and throw them in a food processor. Run it for a bit, then stop and use a spoon to scrape the sides down. Toss in a spoonful of peanut butter, blend to taste, and serve - viola! Delicious, braces-friendly "ice cream." It's easy to make, smooth so it won't hurt brackets and wires, and best of all, contains no added sugar - something their teeth and their braces will be happy about.
