Can Apps Help Your Child Brush?
Whether we are accustomed to it or not, technology is here to stay. It can enrich our lives in so many ways, whether you are watching tutorials on how to install your own dishwasher or simply amusing yourself with cat videos, it is a part of our everyday life. Did you know that there are apps available that can help you and your child with your oral hygiene and healthy habits? It's true!

Making Oral Health Fun

The American Dental Association recommends that your child brush their teeth twice a day, but as a parent, sometimes enforcing that can be difficult. What if you are not there every day to make sure the teeth are getting brushes? Not to mention, parents forget things too! Dental apps can help not only remind your child that it is time to brush, but can enhance their routine.
There are apps available that not only track the length of time your child spends brushing, but offers incentives as well. There are little games and rewards that can make tooth brushing time more fun and interesting. Your child can earn badges, rewards and depending on the app, even trips to places they would love to visit.
Remember that your child should be brushing their teeth twice per day and flossing at least once a day. Recording the time in an app that plays along with your child can not only keep your child interested in oral health, but can be an easy way for you as a parent to double check and make sure that your child is brushing and flossing.
One last thing to remember is that in addition to fun apps, your child needs to see us regularly for cleanings and checkups. Give us a call or stop in and we can share some more helpful tips to keep your child brushing and healthy!
