Traditional braces can be bulky, uncomfortable, and indiscrete. For patients of Kids First Pediatric Dentistry, Invisalign is an excellent alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic trays to straighten your teeth, improve your smile, and better your oral health.

As the name suggests, Invisalign is designed to be invisible. During treatment, clear aligner trays made of smooth and comfortable plastic are worn over your teeth to discretely and gently move their position.

We can use Invisalign to treat both teens and adults. Many of our patients have experienced the benefitd of Invisalign, and you can too!

Invisalign Treatment Process

Doctor at the office will determine if you are a suitable candidate for treatment during a consultation visit. Invisalign can be used to treat, crossbites, overbites, underbites, crowded teeth, and gapped teeth. Patients with more advanced orthodontic problems may not qualify for Invisalign.

If Invisalign is right for you, we will take a digital impression of your teeth. This impression will be used to fabricate your aligners. Each aligner will shift your teeth slightly, moving them horizontally, vertically, and even rotating them if needed. The aligners are designed to apply the right amount of force at the right time.

Each aligner should be worn judiciously for 22 hours a day. Your aligners should only be removed while you eat, drink, or clean your teeth. The length of treatment depends on your circumstance; however, the average length of Invisalign treatment is about 10-20 months for most adults.

The Benefits of Invisalign

There are several benfits of Invisalign treatment:
•  No repairs required. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign trays will never need repairs. If you damage or lose a tray, you can simply move on to the next one in your series.
•  Easier to clean. Traditional braces make it difficult to brush and floss your teeth. In fact, you will need specialized equipment to remove plaque and food debris. Invisalign trays are removable, and allow you to brush and floss your teeth without obstruction.
•  Less follow up appointments. Patients who choose Invisalign only need to schedule appointments every 6-8 weeks.
•  No food restrictions. Because Invisalign trays are removable, you will still be able to ear your favorite foods.
•  Discrete. Because they are clear, many people may not notice you are wearing Invisalign. Patients who are embarrassed by the prospect of wearing traditional braces, now have a more discrete alternative.
•  Active lifestyle. Invisalign allows you to maintain an active lifestyle. Patients with Invisalign will be able to participate in sports and other physical activities, without worrying about damaging their braces.
•  Increased comfort. Traditional braces can cause discomfort for your cheeks, gums, and teeth. Invisalign is a more comfortable experience without the need for wire tightening.

Invisalign treatments is less painful, effective, and hassle-free. If you want to achieve a great smile, with straighter teeth, Invisalign may be the perfect solution!

After Invisalign Treatment

After Invisalign treatment, we recommend protecting your investment with a retainer. Without a retainer, your teeth may shift out of place.
